Down With MET: Health and Fitness Progress from Sunday, May 27 to June 2

Here is the run down of brisk walking this week, 3 mph, MET 3.5 each day:

  • Sunday, May 27: 140 minutes, 800 calories
  • Monday, May 28: 103 minutes, 588 calories
  • Tuesday, May 29: 48 minutes, 274 calories
  • Wednesday, May 30: 86 minutes, 491 calories
  • Thursday, May 31: 86 minutes, 491 calories
  • Friday, June 1: 86 minutes, 491 calories
  • Saturday, June 2: rest day (errands day…I will not calculate the MET on this one. It won’t count under physical fitness)

I’m not an expert on MET but I have looked through some websites to get some understanding on how to get the total calories burned for each workout. It helps to know the speed I’m walking at and the number of minutes.

    • It’s good to know I’m on the right track. I’ve never heard of MET before before blogging and now that I know about it and have a general idea how it works, I think it’s good to know it – mostly because if the MET is higher, the more calories are expended.
