The Challenge to Weight Loss: Give Up Café Mocha

I drink Café Mocha every day and without it I can lose up to 10 pounds in five weeks! See post Diet, Exercise and MyFitnessPal.

If I’m eating this much every day – and no Café Mocha and sweets – I will have lost 12.2 pounds in five weeks. Hopefully it’s 12.2 pounds of fat that I would be losing! I”d like to keep at 120 pounds of muscle.

I will take it one day at a time when it comes to not walking over to Tim Horton’s for the Café Mocha and sweets.

Thanks a million Joy for telling me about the Polar heart rate monitor with calorie count and the MyFitnessPal. Both are telling me that I am spending calories and how many pounds I will lose in five weeks. Using METs is still alright, but the first two provide more information and tell me that I am reaching my goals.

Tomorrow I’ll be seeing the dietitian in the evening and I’ll know tomorrow (unless the machine broke down! But it won’t, I’m sure!) if my total body water has increased much. I’ll be happy if I have lost one pound of fat and gained pounds only because I have gained them in water.

The thin me in the Gravatar picture in June 2006 with my then dog Cutie Pie, had starved herself consuming 200-300 calories per meal. MyFitnessPal tells me that consuming 1000 calories in food a day is a bit of starvation.

I felt guilty for eating the four bananas for dinner but my fitness pal is telling me it’s okay and that even if I eat this way for the next five weeks, I’ll still lose 12.2 pounds. Thank goodness for that!

Here is an alternative to sweets that I can buy even though it’s a bit pricey for me. My budget is $30 for groceries–just for myself not including my mother.

I didn’t try strawberry-flavoured smoothie, but the orange-flavoured one. I love orange…in food and drink.

    Wow! That’s crazy how much you can lose just by giving up cafe mochas…you can do it! Good luck. For a little motivation, or when you really want one, always remember those 12.2 pounds in 5 weeks!

  2. It’s September 20, 2012 and I’m still buying this flavour. Sometimes I eat 3 a day, sometimes even 6 a day. I’m still losing weight because I’m brisk walking.
