Monthly Goals: August

It was still a good month even though I didn’t reach the goal targets. It was, even, an excellent month because in listening to my body, I slowed down and relaxed.

Now that  I have decided to do at least one hour of brisk walking for at least 5 days a week, maybe I will even do 1.5 hours for 5 days of the week – and this will bring me closer to the 10 METs h/w.I would, for sure, like to burn 500 cal calories during a workout and brisk walking will do that for me. I timed myself on Saturday. In an 8-minute walk, I burned 60 calories, and in 80 minutes I’ll be burning 600 calories.Brisk walking gets easier to do the longer you do it – and you burn more calories over time because of the fat loss.

Goals For September

  • brisk walk 5 days a week, 1.5 hours each day
  • still keep up a low-fat diet
  • up with protein and calcium

I’m not including regular stretch and meditation, yet. I want to keep up with these three. I’ll relax and meditate when my body feels it.My body does feel tense and in need of stretching, but I’ve tried to incorporate stretching exercises regularly but I hate being aware of how tense my muscles are.
